Kate Middleton has been left shocked after it was reported that the hospital where she recently underwent surgery would be launching an investigation into claims that staff tried to access her private medical records. The Princess of Wales, 42, had stayed in The London Clinic, a private hospital in London, for 13 nights following her surgery, and it's now thought that at least one staff member attempted to breach the Princess's privacy by looking into her medical records.
It comes amid an influx of conspiracy theories surrounding the Princess, who has been absent from public life since Christmas time, with Kensington Palace later announcing that she would be undergoing surgery.
And while it's not known why Kate had to undergo surgery, the Royal Family has confirmed that it was not cancer. Discussing the recent attempts to gain access to Kate's medical records, Royal biographer and editor of Majesty Magazine, Ingrid Seward, told The Mirror: "The news that a staff member in the London Clinic attempted to access the Princess of Wales's medical records came as a shock when the royal family were first informed. "A shock to the palace, a shock to the princess and a shock to her husband and father-in-law, the King. The hospital is renowned as much for its privacy as it is for its massive costs, which without taking advantage of medical insurance can be over £7,000 per night." Ingrid added that this shocking news has come about during a time in which Kensington Palace was already "under siege" from the "social media storm" surrounding Kate's edited Mother's Day photo and the Prince and Princess of Wales's recent outing to Windsor Farm Shop.
