Kate Middleton is thought to have ‘shed a tear’ after a comment from Prince Harry on her wedding day. Prince William and Kate married at Westminster Abbey in a ceremony in front of thousands of guests that was televised to millions of people around the world.

However, they still managed to give the wedding a personal touch, thanks in part to the speech given by William’s best man, brother Prince Harry, at the reception.

Many guests have said the speech was one of the highlights of the day - and even made Kate cry. Royal author Katie Nicholl gave an insight into the tear-jerking speech in her biography Harry: Life, Loss, and Love.

"The speech was peppered with Harry's classic sense of humour, and he ribbed his brother: 'William didn't have a romantic bone in his body before he met Kate, so I knew it was serious when William suddenly started cooing down the phone at Kate'. "Famous for his mimicry, Harry then impersonated his brother calling Kate 'Babykins', to much laughter from the guests. "When he said the couple’s decade-long romance was his inspiration, there was a shy smile from Chelsy, while Kate shed a tear." Kate and brother-in-law Harry previously had a friendly relationship, with Harry once describing Kate as the "sister he never had".
