When Kate and William were at university together the future King of England always called her Catherine.The Queen, Prince Harry and the rest of the royals also called her Catherine even though the press dubbed her Kate.

However, according to reports, the Duchess of Cambridge isn't a fan of the name, and reportedly sent an awkward email to her friends in 2008 asking them to call her.
