Kate Middleton found the Windsor walkabout alongside Prince Harry and Meghan "one of the hardest things she'd ever had to do" after the Queen's death, a new royal book has claimed.
In a new book called Our King, which uncovers the rift between the Sussexes and the Royal family, veteran royal correspondent Robert Jobson claims the Princess of Wales told a senior royal the walkabout was difficult due to the "ill feeling" between the couples. Two days after the Queen's death in September last year, Prince William, Kate, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle made an appearance altogether to greet well-wishers and view the flowers left outside the gates of Windsor Castle.
At the time, the couple's joint appearance was reportedly said to have been William's idea to put on a united front which gave the impression that there was a sense of reconciliation.
But in the new book, Robert said sources close to the Royal family confirmed to him that it was an "illusion". He wrote: "Catherine later admitted to a senior royal that, such was the ill feeling between the two couples, the joint walkabout was one of the hardest things she'd ever had to do." William, Kate, Harry and Meghan had once been labelled the 'fab four' following several appearances together as working royals.
