Kate Middleton broke Queen's strict food rule she's kept for 70 years

It's been reported the Duchess of Cambridge has accidentally broken the Queen's golden dinner rule. The monarch has never disclosed her favourite dish to anyone outside of her tight-knit circle, reports the Mirror.

Apparently, despite her 70-year reign, some of her own chefs don't even know what she likes to dine on best. Palace insiders have previously revealed she doesn't like to tell people what her favourite food is because it would mean she'd be given it at every official engagement and event.Gordon Rayner, a former royal correspondent for The Telegraph, once said a royal staff member had let slip the fact the Queen was private about the matter."As one of her staff told me, ‘If she said she had a favourite meal she would never get served anything else," he said.Kate broke this tradition on an official visit to Great Ormond Street Hospital in 2018.She was chatting with four-year-old Rafael Chana, who was in the hospital waiting for a heart transplant.Rafael told Kate that he enjoyed olives, and she replied she'd also loved them as a child."I used to eat lots and lots of olives when I was little as well," Kate revealed.They also talked about their love of pasta, with Kate saying that her own daughter, Charlotte, likes pasta too.Royal correspondent Rebecca English later posted on Twitter: "The Duchess of Cambridge revealed today that her daughter, Princess Charlotte, loves olives and she encourages both her and Prince George to cook with her."The Queen's favourite food remains a secret.But a former royal chef has revealed she loves chocolate cake.Former royal chef and author of Eating Royally, Darren McGrady, told baking website RecipePlus: "The Chocolate Biscuit Cake is the only cake that goes back again and again
