The Princess of Wales, widely known as Kate, was asked to change the spelling of her name due to a clash with King Charles and Queen Camilla.
Despite being globally recognised as Kate, her real name is Catherine, which is how most members of the Royal Family, including her husband Prince William, refer to her.
However, it seems that her real name once caused a bit of a stir with her father-in-law King Charles and his wife Queen Camilla.
According to Prince Harry, they even suggested she should alter the spelling of her moniker. In his tell-all memoir Spare, Harry revealed that the King and Queen wanted Kate to spell her real name Catherine with a K instead of a C.This was because there were already two Royal cyphers with the letter C in them - and they didn't want another.
