Very few people need reminding that the Prince and Princess of Wales' romance began when they were both studying at St Andrews University in Scotland.
However, the future couple had a very near miss the year before they enrolled as they both undertook gap years which saw them almost cross paths.
Before they joined university, both William and Kate signed up to the Raleigh International Challenge - although their exhibitions were just weeks apart.
While there, they each spent ten weeks trekking, helping locals and building in Southern Chile. Malcolm Sutherland, who ran both expeditions, has called the coincidence “absolutely crazy.” He continued: "For me, it was a normal assumption that everybody else would have realised what that connection was.
