The Good Morning Britain host was back on screens on Thursday after Christmas. She revealed that she and her two children - Darcey, 14, and 11-year-old Billy - were able to see husband and dad Derek Draper in hospital.
It is the first time the two children have seen their dad since he was rushed into ICU with coronavirus in March. While Derek is now free from the virus, it has "wreaked havoc" on his body and he is still in recovery.
Speaking on ITV's GMB, Dr Hilary argued that it was wrong to put a deadline on when the latest lockdown measures could end to which Kate confessed meant she was unable to see her.
