The 53-year-old has faced a difficult 12 months as her husband Derek Draper has been in hospital since last March, after contracting coronavirus.
Despite no longer testing positive for the virus, it has left lasting damage to his body. The Good Morning Britain host said that she believes that the person who made the comment "meant it weirdly kindly" but she was left shocked by the suggestion.
Derek had the worst coronavirus infection of any surviving patient and nearly died six times at the height of his fight with the virus.
