Good Morning Britain hosts Kate Garraway and Ben Shephard asked for clarity over reported government talks about the closure of UK borders, to help tackle the coronavirus pandemic.
Questioning the trust the public have in the government, they asked government minister George Eustice about reports that borders could be closed to stop new variants of the virus coming into the UK, and spreading.
But amid claims that the new variants detected so far don't appear to be any more of a risk than the original Covid-19 strain, Kate and Ben questioned why it has taken so long to come to the decision - yet to be confirmed.
