Kate Garraway asks 'what's my future' after being hit with 'tsunami of sadness'

Kate Garraway has revealed that she was recently hit with a "tsunami of sadness" while performing a common household task. In January 2024, Kate's husband, Derek Draper, sadly died at the age of 56.

He developed severe health issues after catching Covid-19 in March 2020, with the psychotherapist later suffering from a cardiac arrest and slipping into a coma.

Kate, who covered his final year in an ITV documentary, Kate Garraway: Derek's Story, has opened up about the struggles she faces while navigating life without her beloved husband.

She told Hello!: "Only the other day, I finally got round to hanging a picture that's been waiting for years. Standing back, chuffed with my work, I thought: 'Derek will love this when he sees it'. "Then, in the same second, I remembered and a whole tsunami of sadness at what is lost swept over me.
