Kate Middleton "didn’t want to be" at Balmoral Castle when the Queen died, but was instead with her children, a royal expert shared.The late Queen Elizabeth died at Balmoral Castle on 8 September 2022 at the age of 96, just a few months after celebrating her Platinum Jubilee, she was the longest-reigning British monarch.

While Prince William went to Balmoral Castle in Aberdeenshire, Scotland when the Queen passed, his wife, Kate Middleton stayed at home with her three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

Talking further about this, historian, writer and broadcaster Tessa Dunlop spoke exclusively to OK! and said: “I don’t believe Kate wanted to be there".

Tessa added Kate likely wanted to remain close to her children because, at the time, they had recently started at a new school, the co-educational private Lambrook School in Berkshire.
