Kate Bush returns to the Top 10 of the Official Singles Chart for the first time in a decade today, as Running Up That Hill rides the viral wave of being included in the latest season of Stranger Things.
Featured as one of the emotional lynchpins in the journey of character Max (played by Sadie Sink) Bush has been exposed to a whole new generation following the show’s debut on Netflix and over the past week has absolutely flown back up the charts.
As it stands, Running Up That Hill is a re-entry in today’s Official Singles Chart at Number 8. It’s the track’s first time in the Top 10 since 2012, when it a new mix of the song was featured in the closing ceremony of the London 2012 Olympic Games.
Check out the song’s chart history in the UK. Originally released in 1985 as the lead single from Hounds of Love, Running Up That Hill then peaked at Number 3, becoming Bush’s second highest-ever charting single in the UK (after debut Number 1 single Wuthering Heights).
