Ellise Shafer New music from Kate Bush could be on the way. In a rare interview with BBC Radio 4’s “Today” program, the elusive artist said she is “very keen to start working on a new album.” Bush spoke to the BBC’s Emma Barnett about a new short film, “Little Shrew” — set to her 2011 song “Snowflake” — that she wrote and directed to raise money for children in war-torn countries.

When asked if she was working on new material, Bush said, “Not at the moment, but I’ve been caught up doing a lot of archive work over the last few years, redesigning our website, putting a lyric book together.” However, she continued: “I’m very keen to start working on a new album when I’ve got this finished.

I’ve got lots of ideas and I’m really looking forward to getting back into that creative space, it’s been a long time.” Bush’s last release was her 2011 record “50 Words for Snow.” Since then, the 66-year-old musician gained a whole new generation of fans when her 1985 single “Running Up That Hill” was used in a prominent scene in Netflix’s “Stranger Things” in 2022.

The song hit No. 1 on the U.K. charts, but she continued to keep a low profile and did not attend the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame ceremony when she was inducted in 2023.
