Prince William and Princess Kate affectionately referred to Prince George as their 'little grape' before his birth, a Royal author has disclosed.Royal journalist and author Robert Jobson, in his 2013 publication 'The New Royal Family: Prince George, William and Kate, The Next Generation', unveiled that the couple had this sweet moniker for their unborn son. Before the arrival of Prince George in July 2013, the then-Duchess of Cambridge dazzled onlookers at her last public engagement during Trooping the Colour and subsequently commenced her 'maternity leave'.As they anticipated the birth of their first child, William was set to begin his paternity leave from the RAF, with the couple already fondly calling their expected baby 'little grape'.

Jobson penned in his book: "The next time we would see her [Princess Kate] - officially at least - would be on the hospital steps with her new baby in her arms and proud husband at her side.

He continued: "Prince Charles was considered progressive to want to be at his wife's side. Like his father, William had followed modern convention by taking two weeks' paternity leave from the RAF to bond with the baby they have nicknamed 'our little grape'."In preparation for the big day, Kate dedicated herself to arranging the Royal abode.
