A royal expert has said that Prince William and Kate Middleton gave up their “dream” of London as a place to live in an effort for their children to have a “more normal life”.The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are set to move from their family home in Kensington Palace in London, where they raised their three children, to Adelaide Cottage in Windsor, near enough the capital for royal duties to still be carried out.Though William, 40, and Kate, 41, have agreed that Windsor is the best place for Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis., to grow up and continue their school years, it is thought that it will be sore for them leaving London.

Royal Executive Editor Omid Scobie wrote on Yahoo!: “Though London was originally the dream, it became increasingly apparent to the Duke and Duchess, that living in Kensington Gardens may not be the best place for Prince George, nine, Princess Charlotte, seven, and Prince Louis, four, as they grow up. "'They thought about moving to [their home in] Norfolk, but as active senior working royals they could never be that far away from London, so that’s where Windsor came into the picture,' says the source." Mr Scobie added that the Cambridge family will be renting, not purchasing, the four-bedroom Grade II-listed Adelaide Cottage in Windsor, as initially reported.

Their new home in Windsor will be able to provide the royal children with lots more freedom than in their palace in London, where a thorough security procedure is needed whenever they wish to leave the grounds.

George, Charlotte and Louis will be able to play on the 655-acre land when they move, as the Crown Estate will have onsite security.
