Kasabian have spoken out about their former frontman Tom Meighan pleading guilty to assaulting his ex-fiancee, stating they do not condone domestic violence. Tom, 39, appeared at Leicester Magistrates’ Court on Tuesdayto face the charge of assault following an incident involving his ex Vikki Ager.
Meighan was sentenced to carry out 200 hours of unpaid work for the assault. It came just one day after the band announced Meighan had left the group due to ‘personal issues’.
Hours after the guilty plea, Kasabian tweeted: ‘Now that the legal proceedings have been concluded, we can comment on the departure of Tom Meighan from the band.’ They added in a full statement: ‘No one in the band wanted this to happen.
