Karim Benzema could make a sensational return to the France squad in a major boost for their World Cup hopes. The 2018 winners have been rocked by a slate of injuries, including an ACL injury to Lucas Hernandez in their opener against Australia.

He was included in the initial squad and is therefore already guaranteed to win a medal should his nation triumph again, just like they did at Russia 2018 when they beat Croatia.
