Kanye West officially changes name to 'Ye' after request is legally granted

A judge has granted Kanye West ’s request to legally change his name to Ye. His request was approved on Monday by Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Michelle Williams Court after the singer filed the petition in late August.

Kanye has been wanting to go by Ye for a number of years, and even named his eighth studio album by his desired name.The father of four has also had Ye as his name on Twitter for quite some time, and tweeted in 2018: "the formally being known as Kanye West.

I am YE." According to Deadline, Kanye wanted to change his name for “personal reasons” . In light of the judge's approval, Kanye will now simply be known as Ye with no middle or last name.
