Jussie Smollett is getting released from prison. Last week, the 39-year-old Empire actor was sentenced to 150 days in prison for faking his hate crime back in 2019.
On Wednesday (March 16), an appeals court ruled that Jussie could be released from prison after spending six days locked up. Click inside to find out why The court decided that Jussie could be released after posting a personal recognizance bond of $150,000, meaning he doesn’t have to put down any money, but has agreed to come to court as required, according to the New York Post. Jussie‘s attorneys argued that he would have completed his jail sentence by the time his appeal process would be completed.
They also argued that Jussie could be in danger of physical harm if he remained in prison. As of right now, it’s unclear when Jussie will be released from prison.
