Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has compared his club's summer transfer business with Manchester City's, as the two sides prepare to rekindle their battle for Premier League supremacy.
A single point separated them last season as City walked home with their fourth title in five campaigns. And both managers have gone into the transfer market to strengthen this summer; Pep Guardiola won the race for Norway sensation Erling Haaland and has also signed England midfielder Kalvin Phillips.
Moving in the other direction are Gabriel Jesus, Raheem Sterling and Oleksandr Zinchenko as Guardiola sets sights on a new left-back with Brighton defender Marc Cucurella understood to be top of his shopping list.
