French singer Juliette Gréco has died. The iconic musician died on Wednesday near St Tropez in France. She passed away from a stroke at the age of 93.
Her family confirmed the news of her death to AFP, writing: “Juliette Gréco died this Wednesday surrounded by her family in the house she loved so much.
Her life was one like no other. "She was still making French songs shine at the age of 89.” The singer, born in 1927, was not only known for her music but also as a style icon and an artistic muse to photographers and writers.
When Juliette was 16 she and her sister were arrested by the Gestapo after her mother - who was working for the Resistance- disappeared.
