Julianne Moore is looking back at her movie The Kids Are All Right, ten years after its release.
The Oscar-winning actress plays one-half of a lesbian couple in the film and she doesn’t think she’d accept the role if the movie were being made today.
Both Julianne and co-star Annette Bening are straight actors who played gay roles in the film. “I’ve thought about that a lot.
Here we were, in this movie about a queer family, and all of the principal actors were straight. I look back and go, ‘Ouch. Wow.’ I don’t know that we would do that today, I don’t know that we would be comfortable,” Julianne said in a new feature with Variety.
