Last night on The Tonight Show, Jimmy Fallon offered Dawson’s Creek fans a treat when he introduced Joshua Jackson and announced the Dr.

Odyssey star would be revisiting the role — Pacey — on the show that made him famous. With Fallon playing Dawson, Jackson went down memory lane in a scene imagining a heartfelt reconciliation between the two characters. “You were never the town screw-up,” Fallon/Dawson said, comforting Jackson/Pacey. “You just refused to play by the rules.” Jackson: “And you refused to break them.” You can watch the rest below.

At the end of the bit, the band launched into the show’s theme song, Paula Cole’s “I Don’t Want to Wait,” as the duo belted out the lyrics.
