Hearts’ appeal against Jorge Grant 's red card has been dismissed. The midfielder was shown a straight red for a tackle on Motherwell ’s Callum Slattery five minutes before half-time during Sunday’s Premiership clash at Tynecastle.
The Jambos went on to win 3-2 despite being reduced to ten men at 0-0. They raced into a two-goal lead thanks to Andy Halliday’s double either side of the break, but were pegged back by a Louis Moult penalty and Blair Spitall’s strike with ten minutes left.
However, they were awarded a spot-kick of their own in the 89th minute, which Lawrence Shankland duly converted to send them fourth in the table.
Now attention turns to Ibrox, where Robbie Neilson takes his team on Wednesday evening in a bid to pile on the misery for embattled Rangers boss Gio van Bronckhorst.
