Jon Stewart scored big numbers for his return to The Daily Show. Stewart’s return to the late-night show Monday scored the most-watched episode of the Comedy Central show in five years.

It brought in 930,000 viewers, making it the most-watched episode since 2018. The episode was simulcast CMT, Logo, MTV, MTV2, Paramount Network, Pop and TV Land and it added another 920,000 viewers to these networks, taking its total across the night, include repeats, to 1.85 million.

It was also The Daily Show’s biggest rating share since 2015 with a 4.21. Stewart trumped Trevor Noah’s final episode, up 110% over the 443,000 that watched the South African comedian say goodbye in December 2022.

It was also up 160% on that show in the 25-54 demo in viewers. On social, Comedy Central said Monday’s episode had 11.1M views across social platforms.
