'Joker 2' Starring Joaquin Phoenix Gets Official Release Date

On Wednesday (August 3), Warner Bros. announced the official release date for the upcoming sequel, titled Joker: Folie à deux, with Joaquin Phoenix reprising his role as Joker/Arthur Fleck. Click inside to read more… Joker: Folie à deux will be released in theaters on October 4, 2024, exactly five years after the first film was released, according to Variety.
Back in June, it was revealed that the upcoming sequel will be a musical, and that Lady Gaga is in talks to join Joaquin in the movie playing Harley Quinn.
Joker was originally supposed to be a standalone film, but after making more than $1 billion globally in the box office and earning Joaquin an Oscar, a sequel was planned. Todd Phillips, who directed the first Joker, is returning to direct the sequel.
