Manager Jamie McKim insists Johnstone Burgh will keep their feet firmly on the ground – despite rising to the top of the First Division table. The in-form Keanie Park side travelled to Robertson Park in Uddingston hoping to pick up their third league win on the spin.

And well-worked set-piece goals from Stuart Fyfe and Mark Donaldson in the second half put the Burgh side on the road to do just that after a dominant performance in North Lanarkshire. While the hosts did pull one back through Frazer Stobie’s wonderful finish from the edge of the box, McKim’s men stood firm to bag all three points which pushed them joint-top of the division alongside St Cadoc’s.While delighted with their current run of form, McKim believes the club’s lofty position means nothing with so many games still left to play of the campaign – especially given they face off against fellow table-toppers St Cadoc’s this evening at New Tinto Park.McKim told Renfrewshire Live Sport: “It was a tough game against Thorniewood.

The first half was quite even, although I’d say we created more chances.“The second half we took over. We got ahead and looked comfortable from then on.“They scored a wondergoal, to be fair it was a cracker, but I think that was the only way they were ever going to score.

We were so solid defensively.“That’s three wins on the bounce and of course it’s always nice to see your name at the top of the table.
