British actor John Steiner has died at the age of 81 from injuries sustained in a car crash.The actor, who was best known for his work in Tinto Brass’ film Caligula, died on Sunday 31 July, following a collision between two cars in La Quinta in California.
According to the Sheriff’s office, the star had been living locally and died at the Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs.
A second person involved in the crash also suffered serious injuries and police are investigating the incident, according to local news outlet Desert Sun.
Born in Cheshire, England, in 1941, the actor trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London and spent a few years working for the BBC, before making a name for himself in Italian films and eventually moving to the country.
