Boris Johnson has been accused of a "wretched betrayal" of voters over Brexit as exit day looms without an EU trade deal. Sir John Major launched a furious attack on the Prime Minister's Brexit strategy, saying "our bombast, our blustering, our threats and our inflexibility" would leave the UK with a flimsy deal or no deal at all.
The former Tory Prime Minister also lambasted the Government's plans to override key elements of the Brexit deal, which ministers have admitted could break international law.
