Apologetic John Hartson has spoken of his deep regret over a training ground attack on Eyal Berkovic when at West Ham and explained how the incident haunted his career.
The flare-up occurred in September 1998 when a bad tackle in training prompted the diminutive Israeli to throw a punch at the hardy Welshman.The response was savage.Hartson spun and kicked the playmaker full in the face with agonising force.While many such flash-points have happened at training grounds over the years, this was caught on camera and quickly did the media rounds.And the former Celtic striker admits the ensuing notoriety brought him serious grief in terms of the impact on his family and career.
