John Beaton will be in the man in the middle for Sunday's clash between Rangers and Celtic at Ibrox. He'll be assisted by Douglas Ross and Alan Mulvanny with Don Robertson as the fourth official.
It's the first time he'll be in charge of the derby since Rangers' 1-0 win over Celtic in December 2018. That proved to be a controversial clash with criticism of Beaton's handling of decisions, and he was subjected to abuse following the game.He was threatened and one man was fined £750 for abusing him in a phone call after the match.The whistler was given a police escort into his next game a week later between Ayr United and Falkirk.Beaton hasn't refereed a game between the Glasgow giants since with the likes of Bobby Madden and Kevin Clancy
