Chris Sutton has accused referee John Beaton of "not understanding the laws" after he chopped off Celtic's second goal against Dundee United.
The Parkhead side scored early through Callum McGregor in the Scottish Cup tie and thought they had a second later in the first half when Daizen Maeda tapped home.
But play was pulled back for a perceived handball by Giorgos Giakoumakis with the home side given a free-kick. Debate raged immediately over whether it was the correct decision and Premier Sports host Darrell Currie cited the IFAB handball rule that saw Dundee denied a penalty for a similar incident involving Jota last month.Under the rule that was amended in the summer, goals should not be ruled out for accidental handball unless it's the offending player who scored.
In this case Giakoumakis didn't score himself following the incident and a furious Sutton believes Beaton made a mistake in pulling the play back.
