Steven George Gerrard MBE (born 30 May 1980) is an English professional football manager and former player who manages Scottish Premiership club Rangers.
He spent the majority of his playing career as a central midfielder for Liverpool, with most of that time spent as club captain, as well as captaining the England national team. Widely regarded as one of the greatest midfielders of all time,
Gerrard was awarded the UEFA Club Footballer of the Year award in 2005, and the Ballon d'Or Bronze Award. In 2009, Zinedine Zidane and Pelé said that they considered Gerrard to be the best footballer in the world.
Joey Veerman as it appears Feyenoord have moved on. The midfielder reportedly has an admirer in Steven Gerrard and is keen to leave Heerenveen this summer for a new challenge.
The 22-year-old has already been subject of bids from Hellas Verona in Serie A and Eredivise rivals Feyenoord this summer with Rangers waiting in the wings.
The bid from Serie A side Verona has already been thrown out, and Eredivisie rivals Feyenoord now appear to have given up the chase.The Dutch side had hoped to secure a swap deal, but technical director Frank Arnesen admitted they had been priced out of a switch.They have now turned to Molde midfielder Fredrik Aursnes and have confirmed the deal for the 25-year-old.
