Steven Gerrard

Steven George Gerrard MBE (born 30 May 1980) is an English professional football manager and former player who manages Scottish Premiership club Rangers.

He spent the majority of his playing career as a central midfielder for Liverpool, with most of that time spent as club captain, as well as captaining the England national team. Widely regarded as one of the greatest midfielders of all time,

Gerrard was awarded the UEFA Club Footballer of the Year award in 2005, and the Ballon d'Or Bronze Award. In 2009, Zinedine Zidane and Pelé said that they considered Gerrard to be the best footballer in the world.

Joe Worrall admits his temporary switch to Ibrox made him realise just how big a club Rangers are. The centre-back spent last season on loan with Steven Gerrard 's side, making 32 appearances in all competitions.

The defender was frozen out by previous Nottingham Forest boss Aitor Karanka but since returning from his Ibrox loan, he’s starred under new boss Sabri Lamouchi.

Worrall helped Forest into the play-off positions prior to the lockdown and he claims it’s all down to the season he spent at Ibrox.

He said: “It was incredible. I knew all about Rangers before I went up there and I was gobsmacked to be able to have the opportunity.“Steven Gerrard was brilliant with me.
