Joe Willock has revealed he quit Arsenal to get more Premier League experience – and joined Newcastle because their fans left him “scared” on his debut.
The England U21 star will play the rest of the season on loan with Steve Bruce's side, after being “disappointed” at his lack of top flight starts this season.
Talented midfielder Willock, 21, chose Newcastle because he wants to play for a support base that left him “scared” when he made his Premier League debut at St James' Park in April 2018.
Willock said: “Newcastle is a team I always watched. When I made my debut here I was so scared because of the fans! “I told my mum and dad it felt like the fans were on top of my head!
