Joe Rogan apologized for his repeated use of the N-word on his podcast The Joe Rogan Experience after singer India Arie called him out with a video montage of him using the word over two dozen times.
In a five-minute clip posted to his Instagram on Saturday (February 5), the former actor addressed the controversy, saying he “clearly f***ed up” for using the N-word, and claimed he never said it “to be racist.” “It’s a video that’s made of clips taken out of context of me of 12 years of conversations on my podcast.
It’s all smushed together and it looks f***ing horrible, even to me,” Rogan began. “I know that to most people, there is no context where a white person is ever allowed to say that word, never mind publicly on a podcast.
And I agree with that now. I haven’t said it in years. But for a long time… instead of saying the N-word, I would just say the word.
