Carole Baskin
Carole Baskin (born June 6, 1961) is an American animal rights activist and owner of Big Cat Rescue, a non-profit animal sanctuary based near Tampa, Florida. Baskin drew public attention when she was featured in the 2020 Netflix documentary series Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness about Oklahoma-based private zoo operator known as Joe Exotic. The Netflix series follows both Baskin and Joe Exotic, filming their ongoing and escalating feuds over exotic animals in private zoos. Following the series' release, Baskin has been targeted by Internet memes related to the disappearance of Don Lewis, her second husband.

Joe Exotic wants tigers to roam free after knowing what it's like to be caged

It seems as though Joe Exotic has changed his mind. The former zoo owner - who became a huge star during lockdown thanks to Netflix docu-series Tiger King - now believes animals such as tigers should be allowed to roam around freely in a huge U-turn on his previous outlook.

The reality star's prison sentence was what changed his mind about keeping wild cats in captivity after knowing what it's like to be caged himself.

The 57-year-old - real name Joseph Maldonado-Passage - is serving 22 years for plotting to have his rival Carole Baskin murdered, as well as a string of animal cruelty charges.
