Rangers have backed out of a move for Sevilla ace Joan Jordan, writes Andy Newport in Berlin. Ibrox boss Philippe Clement has rumoured to have spent the last couple of weeks on the chase for the 30-year-old midfield playmaker.
Sources in Spain claimed Gers had shaken hands on an agreement with his La Liga employers that would see the Light Blues cover 60 percent of his Sevilla salary during a season-long loan in Glasgow.
A £3.4million option to buy was said to be included amongst the deal’s small print. But Record Sport understands talks have stalled and the move will now not be going ahead.
It comes after reports in the Andalusian capital claimed the former Espanyol, Valladolid and Eibar ace was unsure about making the move to Ibrox despite having been told he’s no longer part of Sevilla boss Garcia Pimienta's plans.
