Jo Whiley has revealed how vile online abuse over her Radio 2 job made her feel she was “going slightly mad”. The DJ, 54, who was lambasted on social media simply for co-hosting a drive time show, says the ordeal was “really unpleasant”.

Simon Mayo fronted Radio 2’s Drivetime show for eight years before Whiley joined him, becoming the first woman to present a daytime show on the station in 20 years.
