Jo Brand 'felt awful' as snaps of acid attack victims surfaced after Farage gag

Jo Brand has told how she felt “absolutely awful” after being accused of encouraging acid attacks after a gag about Nigel Farage.

Images of victims shamed the comic after she joked on Radio 4 that battery acid would be better thrown at the likes of the Brexit Party chief after he was hit by a milkshake.

Brand, who made it clear her words in May last year were “purely a fantasy”, was widely criticised, with former Ukip leader Farage calling for police involvement.

The TV regular said it was “unbearable” when pictures of victims were used to imply she had incited people to do likewise. She said: “That made me feel absolutely awful, really terrible.
