When it came to officiating their wedding, Aston Merrygold and Sarah Richards wanted the role to go to someone who knows them inside out.
And that person was Aston’s JLS bandmate JB Gill, who got ordained specially for the role. The couple, who married in Liverpool’s Sefton Park Palm House, asked the 35 year old to undertake the role by gifting him with a special hip flask, which JB had handy on the day to steady any nerves Aston had.
And speaking exclusively to OK!, Aston told us how important it was to have JB officiate, as well as having his other JLS bandmates – groomsman Marvin Humes and Oritsé Williams – there on the big day. “We thought it would be so special to have him officiate,” Aston says of JB. “He’s been there from the start and he made it so personal. The connection he has with us made us so comfortable.” He continues of his bandmates: “All the boys are special to me – Sarah and I met because of JLS.
Our paths may never have crossed otherwise. I’m so grateful they were there to witness the day.” JB was joined his wife Chloe at the wedding, while Marvin’s wife Rochelle and Oritsé’s fiancée Kazz Kumar were also in attendance.
