The pilot of a Jet2 flight was forced to suddenly abort a landing at Manchester Airport amid strong winds on Monday (April 15).
The Met Office issued a yellow weather alert for wind covering much of the UK, including Greater Manchester, with gusts of over 30mph hitting the region.
The LS810 Jet2 flight, from Malaga, aborted its landing and performed a 'go around' before eventually touching down on its second attempt around 20 minutes later. Pictures taken from beside the runway showed the aircraft swaying from side to side amid the strong wind gusts, before pulling back up ahead of its second landing attempt.
