Jesse Plemons has joined the cast of the upcoming HBO Max series Love and Death! The limited series will also star Elizabeth Olsen and it follows “two church going couples, enjoying small town family life in Texas, until somebody picks up an axe.” Love and Death is based on the true story of Texas housewife Candy Montgomery, who murdered her friend from church, Betty Gore, with an axe in 1980. Elizabeth is playing Candy!

Big Little Lies and Big Sky creator David E. Kelley will write the series and Lesli Linka Glatter will direct.

One of the executive producers is Nicole Kidman! “This is a gripping story about the frustrations and desires of two women in a small town that culminates in a terrible act of violence.
