Manchester United attacker Jesse Lingard has been urged to opt for Newcastle United over West Ham as his contract at Old Trafford ticks towards expiry.
The 29-year-old enjoyed a fruitful short-term loan with the Hammers at the end of last season but saw a permanent move to the London Stadium scuppered.
Eddie Howe's side, last week, made an approach to sign Lingard on loan which would see him see out his time at United on loan at St James' Park.
Manchester Evening News understands that United want all of Lingard's £100,000-per-week wages paid in full, whilst West Ham assistant manager Stuart Pearce confirmed that they still maintained an interest.
