Jerry Springer, the iconic talk show host, has died, according to multiple reports. He was 79. A family spokesman shared a statement with WLWT5 in Cincinnati, Ohio.«Jerry’s ability to connect with people was at the heart of his success in everything he tried whether that was politics, broadcasting or just joking with people on the street who wanted a photo or a word,» said Jene Galvin, a lifelong friend and spokesperson for the family. «He’s irreplaceable and his loss hurts immensely, but memories of his intellect, heart and humor will live on.»Springer was best known for his long running tabloid talk show,, which ran for 27 years. «Anybody can be a talk show host,» Springer told ET during an exclusive visit to set in 2016. «You do three things to be a talk show host.
