Jeremy Allen White joins ‘The Mandalorian’ film as Jabba The Hutt’s son

Jeremy Allen White has joined the cast of the forthcoming Star Wars film The Mandalorian & Grogu.The Bear star is set to appear in his first major franchise role as the voice of Jabba The Hutt’s son, Rotta The Hutt.The film is set to be directed by The Mandalorian showrunner Jon Favreau and is scheduled for release on May 22, 2026.

This will be the first new Star Wars film since 2019’s Star Wars Episode XI – The Rise of Skywalker.Although plot details are scarce, White’s role hints at the return of Boba Fett (Temuera Morrison) and his deputy Fennec Shand (Ming-Na Wen) after the recent spin-off series The Book of Boba Fett revealed that Jabba’s absence left a power vacuum among the organised crime bosses on Tatooine; two of Jabba’s cousins made a play for his territory, only to be defeated by Fett (Temuera Morrison), who takes over instead.As well as White and the returning Pedro Pascal, the only other star so confirmed for the movie is Sigourney Weaver.

Speaking to Deadline about the project in August, she said: “I’m playing a role in The Mandalorian & Grogu. I got to meet Grogu for the first time the other day.

I’m filming that before I go to London for The Tempest at the end of the year”.Dave Filoni, Chief Creative Officer of Lucasfilm, is co-writing the film with Favreau and recently talked about his enthusiasm for the movie. “I’m very excited about it,” he told Extra. “Jon and I had a great time working on that, as we always do.
