Jennifer Lopez breaks silence for first time since shock divorce filing in Ben Affleck split

Jennifer Lopez has posted for the first time on social media since filing for divorce from husband Ben Affleck on Tuesday 20 August.The singer and actress posted to her Instagram Stories on Friday, but did not share any updates on her break up with Ben or how she was feeling.

Instead she shared a glamorous selfie that had been shared by one of her fans.The throwback photo, in which a Christmas tree and gift boxes can be seen in the corner, shows Jennifer with long blonde, wavy hair and is believed to have been taken as part of a photo shoot in 2020, according to People magazine.There is no caption with the photo, and so far Jennifer has made no comment about her split.

Jennifer personally filed her divorce documents earlier this week, listing the date of separation as 26 April.The couple tied the knot on 16 July 2022, and then had a traditional wedding on August 20 that year, exactly two years before Jennifer filed for divorce.The documents state that Jennifer has given up spousal support and has also asked the divorce judge to deny Ben the same support.

Jennifer and Ben first started dating in 2002, with their high profile romance leading to them being nicknamed ‘Bennifer’ in the press at the time.
