Donald John Trump (born June 14, 1946) is the 45th and current president of the United States. Before entering politics, he was a businessman and television personality. Trump was born and raised in the New York City borough of Queens, and received a bachelor's degree in economics from the Wharton School. He took charge of his family's real-estate business in 1971, renamed it The Trump Organization, and expanded its operations from Queens and Brooklyn into Manhattan.
The company built or renovated skyscrapers, hotels, casinos, and golf courses. Trump later started various side ventures, mostly by licensing his name. He owned the Miss Universe and Miss USA beauty pageants from 1996 to 2015, and produced and hosted The Apprentice, a reality television show, from 2003 to 2015. Forbes estimates his net worth to be $3.1 billion.
Jeff Bezos sold 12 million shares of Amazon.com Inc. this week, the first time the billionaire has sold the company’s stock since 2021, according to a report by Fortune.
The sales netted slightly more than $2 billion, according to a filing. Amazon reported on Feb. 2 that Bezos plans to sell as much as 50 million shares of Amazon over the next 12 months That amount takes advantage of a recent stock surge that’s put Bezos in position of becomingthe world’s richest person.
He has $199.5 billion as of Friday, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index. Bezos has sold over $30 billion in shares since 2002, including about $20 billion combined in 2020 and 2021.
He has been generous, gifting stock shares worth roughly $230 million to nonprofit organizations in November. Amazon has not commented on this week’s stock sales.
