Jason Statham Returning For ‘The Beekeeper 2’, Timo Tjahjanto Directing For Miramax
deadline.comEXCLUSIVE: Miramax is reteaming with Jason Statham for The Beekeeper 2, a sequel to the 2024 $162.6M global hit.
Nobody 2 director Timo Tjahjanto is set to helm off a Kurt Wimmer screenplay. Cameras will roll this fall. The first movie, directed by David Ayer, follows a retired clandestine human intelligence operative who sets out for revenge after his kind-hearted landlady becomes the victim of a phishing scam that steals millions of dollars from a charity she runs.
The studio and filmmakers are looking to bring Ayer back in a producing capacity to the sequel. Ayer is currently in production on the Brad Pitt Paramount movie The Heart of the Beast.
Amazon/MGM Studios is currently being buzzed to take domestic on the sequel, the first of which they handled a year ago, filling a void in a strike-impacted box office.
